NHSA Dialog

The mission of NHSA Dialog: The Research-to-Practice Journal for the Early Childhood Field is to: a) offer a quality outlet for research results to the Head Start and broader early childhood community, b) ensure that research results are effectively translated for practice and policy, and c) provide a forum for communication between researchers and practitioners. This journal is a publication of the National Head Start Association (NHSA) and the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation (CEME) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Guidelines for Submission

If you have not submitted your manuscript or Research-to-Practice summary through this website, you will need to submit as a new submission, even if you have emailed it to the editorial team.

Please submit a PDF file if your manuscript has not been accepted yet. However, be prepared to submit a Word document version of your article and Research-to-Practice summary that will include your tables and figures once your manuscript is accepted. The Word document will be used in the copyediting process.

Special Issue on Parent Involvement and Engagement in Head Start

The current issue, 16(1), is a special issue on the important topic of parents and their involvement in Head Start.  Chris Henrich form Georgia State University served as the guest editor for this issue and has put together a rich set of papers on the topic.  Make sure you look it over by clicking on the Current Issue tab.

Welcome to the new website home of NHSA Dialog, The Research-to-Practice Journal for the Early Childhood Field. The journal is continuing as a peer reviewed publication and is now offered in an open access online format.  We are dedicated to honoring the rich history of the journal and are striving to serve the Head Start and broader early childhood field with a unique outlet for researchers and practitioners.  Share the link to this site with your colleagues and help us spread the word that the journal is now online.
